Admission Information

The Admissions Process to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies is divided into a process for U.S Citizens and a different process for International Students. Please choose the one below that applies to you.

Below are some helpful tips to help your application not be delayed.

Deadlines


US Citizens and Permanent Resident Deadlines

NOTE: Submission of all application materials and transcripts in advance of the following deadlines is recommended for all applicants.

U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents Process


Ready to apply to UNT and/or IELI? UNT's application process is easy! Just follow the steps below:
  1. Complete and Submit your Application
  2. Submit Non-Refundable Application Fee
  3. Submit Official Transcripts
  4. Submit Supporting Documentation
  5. Submit Official GMAT/GRE Scores
  6. Check Status Online

1. Complete and Submit your Application


You may apply in one of the following ways:

The application form to use depends on the career for which you are applying.



2. Submit Non-Refundable Application Fee

Once you have completed your application, you will need to submit your application fee. Fee amounts are $50 for US Citizens and Permanent Residents.


3. Submit Official Transcripts

Secondary school graduates must send official secondary credentials and graduation certificates, if applicable.

If you have ever attended and/or graduated from a university, you must send official transcripts from all universities attended.

The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies will check transcripts for minimum GPA requirements of 3.0 on the last 60 hours of a bachelor degree, or a 2.8 overall GPA, or a 3.4 on a Masters degree.

4. Submit Supporting Documentation


Essay

Essay of unique events, life experiences, and qualifications that you feel distinguish your candidacy and will add to the value of the class. (Must be no more than 600 – 700 words)


Resume

A resume consisting of work and academic experience.


Three Recommendations

Three (3) recommendations letters or Recommendation Forms of professional or academic nature. These letters should come from three different sources (i.e., former professors, supervisors, former supervisors, people you have worked with in committees and on projects, counselors, etc.) One letter from a former professor is preferred. Multiple recommendations from professors or employers may not come from the same department. Your advocate must provide contact information. All letters must be signed and on letterhead. Family and friends are not acceptable.

5. Submit Official GMAT/GRE Scores


The College of Business prefers the GMAT be taken but will accept the GRE if it has already been taken. There is no minimum score required and scores must be less than 7 years old for MS in Accounting Programs and 10 years old for other MBA or MS degrees. The average score is between 470-520.

The GMAT is US $250.00 and is due upon scheduling an appointment by calling 1-800-717-GMAT or online at: www.mba.com. Scores may take 4-6 weeks to be processed and must be received before the deadline.

6. Check Status Online


The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies (TSGS) will send you an email and a pin number to check your application status online at: www.my.unt.edu. (reflects transcripts and GMAT/GRE scores have been submitted). You will need to activate your EUID with the pin number and click on Admissions Status.

You may email mbacoba@unt.edu for updates about your supporting documents. Be sure to include your full name and student ID.


International Admission

You may also choose to apply by mail; to do so, please download and print out the application form. (You will need to download and install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program to open the file.)


2. Submit Non-Refundable Application Fee


Once you have completed your application, you will need to submit your application fee. Fee amounts are as follows:

3. Submit Official Transcripts

4. Demonstrate English Language Proficiency


UNT degree program applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. The requirements for each career are listed in the following table.

Recommended to sign up several months in advance. Register online at www.ets.org/toefl or call 1-800-GO TOEFL.

5. Submit International Student Statement of Finances


Submit International Student Statement of Finances, with Sponsor's Statement (if not your own personal funds) and bank statement or proof of finances (refer to the list of acceptable support documents for more information). See amounts required for I-20.
