Students seeking an MBA at the University may choose to concentrate in Finance. The following information is intended to summarize for you the requirements and procedures necessary to complete the MBA program successfully. Background Courses (16.5 hours)
All students must fullfil the MBA Program's background course requirements. These background courses are equivalent to foundation courses of an undergraduate business program and will be waived where appropriate after evaluation of transcripts.
Core Courses (18 hours)
All students must fullfil the MBA Program's course requirements.
Concentration Courses (18 Hours)
The following courses are required of every Finance MBA student. Note that ACCT 5020, ECON 5000, FINA 5040 and a calculus course are prerequisites for all the required and optional finance courses.

For the remaining six hours of the concentration courses, the student may select at most one finance course from the following optional courses. The remaining three hours must be outside of the finance discipline and approved by the departmental advisor.

Professional Certifications
The department recommends that you consider professional certification in addition to your MBA. Certification recommended depends upon your area of interest and are as follows:
